Dr. Janice Joneja, Ph.D.
Dr. Janice Joneja holds a Ph.D. in medical microbiology and immunology. She has been a registered dietitian (RD) in Canada and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in the USA.
She has held faculty positions at several universities, including the University of British Columbia, and has taught at universities and colleges throughout Canada, the U.S.A., the U.K. and other English-speaking countries. For 13 years she was head of the Allergy Nutrition Clinic at the Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre in British Columbia, Canada.
She is the author of eight books and dietetic practice manuals on food allergy, several distance education courses, and instructional videos. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed scientific and medical journals, as well as in popular magazines. She is a respected lecturer at universities, colleges and hospitals internationally, and regularly appears on television and radio call-in shows as an expert in her field.
Dr. Joneja is President of Vickerstaff Health Services, Inc. (website: www.allergynutrition.com), a practice that provides resources for food-allergic individuals and the professionals and care-givers who support them.
Wendy Busse, MSc, RD
Wendy Busse is a registered dietitian and nationally recognized expert in food sensitivity nutrition care. She specializes in helping clients expand their diet and feel better about eating (read her informative articles at WendyBusse.com ). In addition to client counselling over the last twenty-five years, she has developed numerous continuing education programs on food sensitivity management for health care professionals. Wendy also has extensive experience in nutrition care for histamine intolerance and mast cell activation. She completed a Master’s of Science thesis at the University of British Columbia in 1996 demonstrating the benefit of a low histamine diet in some patients with chronic hives. Currently, Wendy serves on the medical advisory board for Mastocytosis Canada.
Judy April is a dietitian living and working for the past 20 years in rural communities in Canada. She has a strong interest in food hypersensitivities and is pursuing her Masters Degree in Adult Education to develop an understanding of the learning needs of those with food allergies and intolerances.
